Everyday Heroes Canvas

 What You'll Need:

Let's Do This!

STEP 1:

A)Use a project knife to cut the canvas loose from the back of the frame. Remove the canvas and set aside.
B)Use a hammer to flatten the staples so they are flush with the wood frame. This will be the back of the frame.

STEP 2:

A)Apply double-sided tape to the back of the frame.
B)Flip the frame over to the front and center it over the canvas. Press the frame onto the canvas.
C)Use a project knife to cut around the frame and remove the extra canvas.
D)Your frame is now ready to paint!

STEP 3:

A)Cover the frame and canvas with black chalkboard paint. Let dry.
B)Use sandpaper to distress the edges of the frame.

STEP 4:

A)Print out the template. Make a photocopy, if necessary. Note: If you have an inkjet printer, the ink will bleed when you apply the coffee. You will need to make a photocopy of the print before completing the rest of the craft. If you have a laser printer, you won't need to make any copies.
B)Brew a cup of coffee and let it cool.
C)Use a paint brush to apply coffee to the paper.
D)Add another layer of coffee stain if you'd like. You can add drips and splatters, too!

STEP 5:

A)Apply a thin layer of deco podge onto the back of your paper. Note: Work quickly so it does not dry out.
B)Lay the paper face-up onto the framed canvas.
C)Use your fingers to press the paper onto the canvas, smoothing it out and removing any air bubbles.
D)Apply a thin layer of deco podge over the whole front of the canvas and paper. Let dry.

TADA!
