Paper Roses Centerpiece

 What You'll Need:

Let's Do This!

STEP 1:

Cut six equal-sized pieces of paper from each of the watercolor designer papers of your choice. Note: We used six different designer papers to make our bouquet.

STEP 2:

A) Paint a loose wash of coordinating watercolors on several sheets of watercolor paper. Let dry. Note: We used three pieces of watercolor paper to make our bouquet.
B) Cut six equal-sized pieces of paper from each of the watercolor wash papers.

To Make a Paper Rose:

STEP 3:

A) Start at the outside and freehand cut a spiral in towards the center of a piece of paper. Leave a little 'tab' at the center of the spiral.

B) Cut off the outside of the spiral and discard.

STEP 4:

A) Start at the outside of the spiral and begin tightly rolling in towards the center to create a rose shape. Stop rolling when you reach the tab at the center.

B) Relax your tight hold on the paper rose and let the spiral loosen slightly before placing a dab of hot glue on the tab. Press the paper rose into the hot glue on the tab to secure.

STEP 5:

A) Create paper rose stems with wire. Note: You may want to double up the thickness and twist the wire for a sturdier stem. Bend the end of the wire at a 90-degree angle to make a loop.

B) Hot glue the paper rose onto the loop at the end of the wire stem.

TADA!
