Gilded Easter Eggs

Gilded Easter Eggs
Welcome spring with beautifully hand-painted wooden eggs. Delicately gilded with gold accents, these decorative treasures bring a touch of elegance and charm to your Easter decor.

Let's Get Started

STEP 1:

A)    Make a lighter tint (by adding white) and a darker shade (by adding black) of a paint color.

STEP 2:

A)    Paint the egg with a solid coat of the color you chose for Step 1. Let dry.

B)    Dip a textured brush into the darker paint shade that you made and then tap the brush onto a paper towel to remove excess paint. Randomly dab the brush onto the egg to create a stippled effect. Let dry.

C)   Dip a textured brush into the lighter paint tint that you made and then tap the brush onto a paper towel to remove excess paint. Randomly dab the brush onto the egg to create a stippled effect. Let dry.

D)   Your egg is now painted and ready for gilding!

STEP 3:

A)    Slightly crinkle a piece of aluminum foil.

B)    Brush gold paint onto the center of the aluminum foil.

C)   While the paint is still wet, wrap the foil around the egg. This will randomly transfer gold paint onto the egg at the contact points. Repeat this process, applying more paint to the foil as needed, until you reach the desired results. Let dry.

D)   Your egg is now gilded!

STEP 4:

A)    Make other colors of eggs using the same technique.
