Mini Mosaic Tray

STEP 1:

A) Stain the wood tray. Let dry.

STEP 2:

A)    Print out two copies of the template.

B)    Cut out one of the templates around the outside line. The cut copy will be referred to as Copy 1.

STEP 3:

A)    The code for cutting the colored paper is as follows:

W = Newsprint, O = Orange Paper, P = Pink Paper, B = Blue Paper, and G = Green Paper.

STEP 4:

A)    Lay the Copy 1 template on top of the colored paper that you will be cutting.

B)    Hold the template together with the colored paper and cut out the shapes along the inside line of each template piece, following the color code.

C)   Note: By cutting inside the lines on each template piece, you will be creating a bit of space between each of the shapes.

D)   Use the Copy 2 template to hold your cut paper pieces and keep them organized.

STEP 5:

A)    Cut out all the colored pattern pieces that you’ll need to complete the mosaic and place them on the Copy 2 template.

STEP 6:

A)    Carefully transfer the cut paper pieces to the tray, retaining their positions.

STEP 7:

A)    Decoupage the cut paper pieces to the tray. Tips: Remove a piece of paper, apply decoupage medium to the back of the piece and then lay the paper back onto the tray. Start in a corner and work your way across the tray. Let dry.
