Pasta and Bean Egg

Pasta and Bean Egg
Create a vibrant, eco-friendly Easter craft by cutting a piece of recycled cardboard into an egg shape and painting it in bright, cheerful colors. Decorate the egg with painted dried pasta and beans, arranging them in fun patterns for a unique, textured design.

Let's Get Started

STEP 1:

A)    Print out the egg template.

B)    Cut out the egg template and trace it onto a piece of cardboard. Cut out the cardboard egg.

C)   Paint the cardboard egg with any design of your choice. Apply several coats if needed. Let dry. Tip: Draw light pencil guidelines, if desired.

D)   Your egg is ready to decorate!

STEP 2:

A)    To paint the dried pasta (or beans): Put a handful of pasta into a sandwich bag.

B)    Squeeze about a tablespoon of paint into the sandwich bag with the pasta.

C)   Squish the pasta and paint together to coat the pasta.

D)   Pour the pasta out onto a sheet of parchment to dry. Make sure to separate the pieces so that they don’t stick to each other.

STEP 3:

A)    Repeat Step 2 to make assorted colors and shapes of pasta and beans.

STEP 4:

A)    Use tacky glue to attach the shapes to the painted egg. Let dry.

B)    Your egg is complete! Note: Have fun making different colors and patterns on your eggs.
